This one talks about the places like Costa or Starbucks. But in the middle of the article says sit down normal is still 20%.




I will say there were also articles out there saying average is 15-20%. I personally do 20% at a sit down. I know those people are working hard, they usually have to share with others that work there, and I have at times depended on tips.

I don’t go to Starbucks so I can’t say there. At Costa, as we don’t have Cafe Rio here in TX, when I go I usually do $1. I do that at Einstein also when I get a dozen.

I can see not doing that. But at a sit down place I know they are working hard and I tip 20%.
