You have to look to the future and not live in the past
Any conference (B12, PAC12, B10) is going to take one of the Arizona schools over Utah, CU, SDSU based on the size of the TV markets alone. It makes the most financial sense for Utah to stay in the PAC12, whatever form it takes in the future and for BYU to be in the B12. The entire Utah market is still fairly small and there is no way to justify taking both BYU and Utah prior to the two Arizona schools
