PURE Speculation but I actually think the Big 12 pumps the brakes on Gonzaga because there may be an opportunity to get
Washington and Oregon. Those two along with ASU and Arizona have to be the grand slam for Yormark. I realize CU being near Denver might be more appealing market wise but I think Denver is full of transplants and nobody cares about CU. Plus CU is snobby and Zona is better overall athletically.
If the Big 12 gets UW, Oregon, ASU, and Zona, all my expansion dreams and wishlists for this round would be fulfilled. I doubt UW and UO come, so the Cats and Sun Devils will be just fine.
