They sell shirts, hats, scarfs, coins, buttons, etc. They have half of the setup for one team and then the other half for the other team. They were pretty much sold out of everything they had by the start of the game at most booths.
What does this tell us?
- Well, this probably happens every year with every team involved
- Fans purchase this stuff without knowing the result of the game
- The bowl game itself is a fun experience and lots of fans save money, get tickets as a Christmas gifts, and put a lot of energy into it. They aren’t just going to burn their clothes after the game
Takeaway - all fans at big bowls buy this stuff before the outcome of the game is known. It’s not that big of a deal.
I have a Rose Bowl shirt that I bought from last year and I still really like the shirt and I don’t mind wearing it. I’m sorry that bothers you.
