When I was in college, my cousin and I would sometimes “babysit” my grandpa
(who was starting to develop symptoms of dementia) so my grandma could get a break.
Now, I regularly babysit my bedridden dad so my mom can get a break.
It’s sobering to realize that I’m now only a generation away from someone needing to babysit me.
