The chance to dramatically increase the donations to match or exceed Stanford was too much to ignore
I suspect the chance to get in in the BIG research federal grants was also a huge draw.
And why wait to play Wisconsin, Michigan, Penn State, tOSU and others in the Rose bowl….just play them at home and have 2-3 “Rose Bowls” per year!
The Rose is dead for all purposes. Made by USC and taken in house by USC
