For football you are barely even a conference anymore at that point. There are teams you won’t play for years. You might as well just divide into two 9-10 team leagues and then only play a championship game like you are MLB before inter league play.

Basketball I guess you can play every team once. Football and basketball are the only sports that matter so who knows beyond that and who cares.
