absolutely, a lot of past BYU teams won games with unathletic, but solid shooter

and gym rats. Also a lot of athletic Utah/Mormon kids as well, obviously. I loved watching some of the earlier Dave Rose teams run and gun (at least modest run and gun), often running more athletic teams out of the gym because they were smart and ballers.
