They have rather argued that we can keep the portions that have proven most successful most far, recognize where our realistic competitive advantages are most likely to come from, and try to meld those with some other things for our best (including most realistic chances at improving). Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. BYU has historically had some very good stretches in basketball. Very few elite teams (what maybe 2-3 in the last 60 years or so?). There is some sense in recognizing commonality in our most successful stretches and leveraging pieces of that.
