How about Jim McMahon? I don't think he was a member of the faith, and yet he
thrived as a QB for the football team.
I heard McMahon, in an interview with some sports announcer, state that if he had to do it all over again, he would do it exactly the same way he did, that is, playing football for BYU. The announcer was extremely surprised by that answer, but Jim was firm with his answer, and stated that he doesn't think he would be the player he is today without that part of his background (playing for BYU). We were a 'passing' school for football, and I don't think that many other schools, if any were a pass-first offense.

I think Rudi's poor start at BYU really hurt this last year's team. I think he was in a funk for the first 5-8 games
