Difficult situation for the PAC12 here. The only real media value is in the PNW and AZ. So the only way they can get a media deal is keeping those in tact in the PAC - BUT - for that same reason, all of those schools have a pretty good incentive to jump ship and leave the parasites to fend for themselves.

Which would leave parasite schools like Utah in the most desperate of situations - having a media deal more appropriate for their puny market and scant accomplishments. So, a media deal fit for a G5. This is why Harlan is so breathlessly expressing his love and devotion for the PAC and trying to get others to do the same - it's the yewts' only option.

And this is why the PNW schools are remaining mum. If I'm OR or WA, I'm lobbying HARD another P5 conference like the BIG, where I can get dollars equal to or greater than the market I bring.

It all depends on what the BIG decides in my opinion. But there's not much reason the BIG would be in any hurry - the longer it drags out, the more desperate OR and WA will be to join, which means they're more likely to accept a lower deal. The only competition they might have in the future is the Big12. But it's clear the PAC12 isn't really only an option for them if the BIG says no.
