like all the money came from the church.

This is the real problem with people wanting to donate to specific stuff. COJCLDS doesn't want to be seen like Notre Dame where the church is taking $$ and putting it into something that not all members would support or seen like they are wasting tithing or other money.

They need to come up with a way that those that want to donate in that way can and the church can somehow put that person's name on it or something letting people know that person paid for it and it didn't come from church funds.

Look at the baseball field, it is easy to realize that the Miller family put up a lot of $$ for that. And most people realize that and understand that the church didn't spend $$ in a way that members would not like.
