is short of B12 $$$ by enough, schools will jump. Let's assume the estimates of total B12 $$$ at $50mil/school/year are accurate, if total P12 $$$ is $35 mil or less, I can't see AZ or ASU sticking around for long. The B12 has good exposure and good money already locked up, for longer term.
And the schools who are tempted to stay have to ask themselves, "Even if we have good exposure in the short term, what will change in 3 years?" The P12 has had pretty good exposure (other than the P12 network) for many years prior to now, and they are still in this situation. USC and UCLA are still going to be gone in 3 years. There are no teams available to add that will move the needle. With a low $$$/high exposure deal, no B12 teams are moving over. I suppose they could bank on the media market being different in 3 years, but that's a pretty big gamble given that the B12 already has good money and good exposure.
I just don't see how a low $$$/high exposure deal works out for them.
