Location and date matters too. Imagine BYU vs. Nebraska in Shreveport LA
Boise or Albuquerque on a Wednesday at noon on Dec 18 in a bottom of the barrel bowl. That would kill a lot of the luster.
Being in the Big12 lifts us out of bowl game purgatory, and automatically brings a lot more excitement.
