After many generations on the latest Samsung, I got an iPhone 14 Pro Max last fall. At first it was a little strange that it didn't charge the battery fully at night. I'd plug it in, and because of the optimized battery charging, it would be at 75-80% in the morning. I just figured it was a new battery so it didn't need to fully charge and it was saving a charging cycle. But 6 months later, it still doesn't have to fully charge every day. Most days it's still charging to 75-80%, but after a full days use (probably 4 hours of screen time), it's ending the day at 40-50% charge. Every once in a while it will fully charge to 100%, and then at the end of the day it's still at like 70%.
There's a battery health reading in settings and it says my phone battery still has 98% of the original capacity. Either the battery is great, or the optimized charging really saves it. Each of the Samsung phones I had would need to fully charge every night after 6 months of use.
