Some people can't accept that you can be a BYU fan and also be a realist

Here's some stats over the last decade

  BYU Utah
H2H Wins 1 6
Total Win % 59.7% 64.1%
G5 Win % 68.5% 88.9%
P5 Win % 45.7% 59.6%
P5 Opponent Win % (in P5 games) 51.31% 51.32%
AP Ranked Weeks 43 85
AP Ranked Years
(1+ appearance)
6 9

AP Ranked Years (EOS)

2 6
AP Rank High 8 3
AP Rank High (EOS) 11 10
Avg Sagarin Rank 50.7 26.7
Median Sagarin Rank 47.5 24
CFP Ranked Weeks 11 41
CFP Ranked High 12 5

It makes absolutely zero sense to me to pretend that BYU football and Utah football have been equally as good over the last decade - that it's just been a fluke that they've won more or them getting up for that game more than we do.

For me, it comes across as convincing yourself that everything is great instead of realizing there's work to do.  Right now, we're in catch-up mode. Which is reasonable, given the advantages Utah has had...and portends well for us in the future

Im not saying we should criticize and castigate...but we also shouldn't bury our heads in the sand. There's been a ton of progress/improvement the last few seasons, but we need to keep it up and build on it.
