I think you are mistaking “gushing” for honesty. Hans is no Scott Mitchell, he’s actually talented and takes his job seriously as a sports reporter, not an ‘I’m an alumni and the other team sucks and is terrible and they cheat and their coach sucks and is a terrible person..’ homer. A lot of times his on-air personality was intentional as he was always viewed as the jokester on the team back in the day, but has matured and improved greatly. He actually is incredibly smart, funny, and grounded. He was hired to speak to a group of executives at our company and I came away extremely impressed with him.

He is a great analyst and is honest in his assessments. Maybe that’s the issue? He appears to favor the team up north by saying they’re better … because they have been for quite a few years. Hurts to admit that but it’s pretty easy to see. I know we’ll catch up but it’ll take time.

Very glad to have him in the booth with Wrubell, it will make for a great game experience, and they’ll get along very well. If cougar nation doesn't embrace him I honestly don’t believe it will be his fault. Thankfully, however, the vast majority of cougar nation isn’t on this board and I believe we’ll enjoy him based on what they hear during the game, and not judge him for his history of being a very good neutral local reporter. Seems like a lot of mental effort to put yourself through to listen to a game.

But, you know, We’ll see how it goes, I guess.
