Jazz fans, do you feel like your current core is good enough to compete for a title with more seasoning?
We are talking Markkanen, Kessler, Ogbaji and Sexton.

So I think most of you would answer no, you are just really in year 2 of rebuilding and you have a ton of picks over the next few years (Danny did an incredible job).

Yet the overwhelming majority on here don't want to see Markkanen shipped off even when you are getting the #3 overall pick in a stacked draft and an extremely talented player in Sharpe?

I guess I don't get it. The Nuggets began their rebuild in 2015-16. It took them 7 years to get to where they are today (which is at least a WCF and hopefully a title....please). Can it be done quicker? Sure. Jamal Murray's injury really pushed the Nuggets timeline back a couple of years. But let's say the Jazz are on a 5 year timeline. What is Markkanen's value? The wins he created last year cost your team a better player. They will continue to do so while costing the younger players valuable chances to lead. Now if you flip him then his great season actually benefitted you.

Do you feel like you can rebuild in just a couple of years so Markkanen will still be in his prime? Do you feel like Markkanen is one of those players that will still be in his prime at 30+ like Lebron or Paul?

I am just surprised by so many seemingly not wanting to give up a good player to get better long term. The Nuggets lucked out and got Jamal Murray at #7 overall from the trade we made with New York for Carmelo Anthony. The Jazz can do that too with all of the picks you have. But Jamal has been the PG almost from day 1 (he didn't start right away as Malone wanted him to learn) and has had a chance to learn and grow. Without that opportunity he isn't what he is today.

Anyway, I was just surprised. Jazz fans know your team much better than I do. But if you could get the #3 pick and a promising wing by giving up Markkanen it sure seems like a no brainer. Get a bunch of talented 22 year-olds leading the team and growing together.
