a little more knowledge but youtube will walk you through all of that. Amazing what plumbers can charge for what is usually fairly simple work. I replaced a water softener last year. It already had all of the lines going to and from the softener. Took me a couple of hours but wasn't too hard. I've also replaced a garbage disposal and changed out the kitchen faucet (a couple of times). All fairly easy if you can just watch a video first.
