My apologies to those who have heard me tell the origin of "ALUF" many times.
The fact a Ute thinks he know it's orgination and indicating it is arrogance on BYU fans is laughable.
Back when BYU had the so called scandal involving recruits, I read the Ute board on occasion.
One such poster posted something like this and this is very close, "as an active LDS Ute fan" I am upset
at the poor image BYU athletics puts on the church.
So an active LDS Ute Fan "ALUF" is thinking he is in a position to judge BYU athletics and it's reflection on the Church he is an
"active" member of. Talk about arrogance.
There are few of these types, but to chastise BYU athletics is hypocritical. The athletes are required to follow LDS standards. While many Ute athletes follow the standards and are excellent representatives of the church, it isn't a requirement.
I will admit the term got overused and was intended for the self righteous few who are Utes.
