The total commitment thing is bad for youth sports.
Had a guy tell me he wanted all of his players in his programs to commit to being a D1 basketball player by 3rd grade. He said this would put them all on the same page as far as how hard they were going to work. I think that’s a ridiculous commitment in 3rd grade
