We faced the same situation when we lived in So Cal in the early 1980s. We realized we couldn't afford a house so we
moved to Puget Sound. That was almost 40 years ago. Now people can't afford to live here so they are moving elsewhere. Utah is experiencing a similar thing.
I think it's interesting that there will be a movement of people to the southwest and midwest due to affordability at the same time BYU is moving to the Big12. Good timing!
