He was not the #1, 2, 3, or 4th option Pope made a run at with that schollie. Honestly, his floor looked very low to me.
And his ceiling didn't look nearly as high as it does to me now.
Credit to Univ of Florida for seeing past Aly's obvious hangups — & like our coaches — for seeing the high-end potential in his game. From what I recall, they were the only major D1 program besides us that put the chips down for him.
