The problem is that it likely wasn't an isolated incident, just the first time
he got caught. Just like a lot of other people who too often drive while impaired.
It would be easy to write it off because so many people do it. And hopefully he truly has changed his ways. But drunk driving is a huge problem and probably doesn't come with the scarlet letter that it deserves.
