I understand that they don’t tell the true value of a pitcher, but they are a

part of baseball history and the fact you can pitch 1/3 of an inning and get credit for a win even if you give up runs is just stupid.

Yeah, it's dumb. Though it's how it's always been so maybe evens out a bit when you compare to historical stats. WAR
