The only specialty tool you need is a ring crimper to crimp the connections
On the pex pipe.
But, depending on where you tap in, it might be copper, then you have to sweat a copper joint to get to a pex barb. Plus, you have to drill through the siding and not hit anything.
Better to leave it to a plumber and spend the 2-300 bucks.
