There is, but only if your contribution was limited by AGI.
You can deduct up to 60% of your adjusted gross income, and amounts in excess are carried forward (there are other limitations too, such as type of asset donated, type of charity to which the donation is made, etc). So the concept of a carryforward very much exists. However, it does not exist if you simply didn’t benefit, like if you used the standard deduction.
