I mean with NIL and portal changes college sports seem doomed and on the professional level free agency and cost has all but ruined most of the professional sports.

When I was a kid I used to go to A’s and Raiders games, I could drive to the coliseum and get into an A’s game for $5 in the late 80’s and the team was well known, the core basically stayed together for most of their careers. Canseco, McGwire, Lansford, Steinbeck, Henderson, Eckersley, these guys were around the team forever and you felt like they were “your” guys. Now I can barely keep up from one year to the next who’s even on these teams and if I want to take the whole family to a game the cost is absurd.

I’m not sure if there is any sport better today than it was 25 years ago. 🥲
