for more than 50% pay raise. Assistant coaches at that level aren't wealthy. Him jumping around is just him trying to provide better for his family and future. As long as he buys in and does great work while he would be here, we shouldn't be upset about him leaving for a higher paying job in the past.
The idea of finding someone who would never want to leave BYU but also someone who has spent enough time in the coaching industry to create a reasonable resume is not realistic. Coaches have to worry about supporting their family in the coaching industry.
