If I could allot all my tithing to BYU NIL and still declare myself a full tithe
payer, I'd consider it. So would most BYU fans. Then NIL probably wouldn't me much of an issue for BYU.

In other words, finding money to contribute to NIL among BYU fans is much tougher because most are already committing 10% of their income to BYU's sponsoring institution, but none of those contributions are making their way back into NIL pools for BYU for both obvious and some not so obvious reasons.

So it is what it is.

But also, NIL was supposed to be for allowing players to make money from endorsement deals with other companies, make appearances at businesses, sell merchandise, appear in ads, etc. What it has actually become with collectives and all that is really stupid and as the OP says, likely unsustainable.
