Smith showed he really wanted a franchise and the NHL made sure they could get him to pay the most possible by manipulating the situation.
But honestly I would pay whatever it takes for a professional sports franchise, down to my list dime. They seem to be the best investment imaginable considering every time one sales it’s for a crazy amount more than the last one that sold.
