They don’t require that much maintenance (you don’t have to check the pads annually) and even if they can’t figure out a system to stay on top of the battery every 5-7 years, having >90% of your buildings with workable AEDs is better than none.
You have a lot of hours of at-risk geriatric members spending time in these buildings let alone the ones playing sports.
Sometimes you just need to do the right thing.
