contributions off on their taxes as charitable contributions, they'll lose the ability to do that in the future. It will become more expensive to be a donor to collectives.
With respect to the collectives themselves, I would imagine most are run so that their expenses come pretty close to matching their income. In other words, they won't have much taxable income to speak of.
With respect to the athletes, I think what they're getting is already treated as ordinary income and taxed at the same rate as anyone else is taxed on income.
