Should be easy to fix though. Just have the players do actual NIL work for
actual charities’ fundraising or awareness efforts. Now these organizations take donations, buy NIL from student athletes, and then donate the NIL they’ve purchased to help other (c)(3)’s raise money.
The problem right now is they aren’t even trying to use the NIL they are supposedly buying. Could still be a problem with market value but IRS probably doesn’t want to open that can of worms.
