It is only $300,000 until someone offers $400,000. Then suddenly that is the new going rate for that type of player.

Then some place will offer $500,000 in another year or two. Then suddenly that's the new going rate.

And so on and so forth.

For a good but not elite player.

I just struggle to imagine how we can possibly keep up with NIL. Our measly $10 per month cougar connect contribution isn't going to finance anything. And no way the regular fan with a family and a mortgage can afford to pay much more. It will need to come almost exclusively from billionaire donors. And pretty soon, the total NIL for a competitive roster will equal or exceed a good coaches salary.

This needs to be regulated very very soon.
