This line of thinking is why San Diego no longer has the Chargers … huge loss
for the community.

With all of the other stuff governments waste money on, I would take a funded stadium for events, teams and community any day of the week, rather than lose the teams.

I have not seen the studies you refer to, but say a stadium is imbecilic seems a bit over the top. The Padres stadium, the Giants stadium … totally rejuvenated the areas where they were built. They bring in thousands of fans for events who pay to park, eat, stay, etc. I don’t buy that they did not bring a major economic benefit to their areas.

In the case of the Chargers, no more Super Bowl in San Diego …
