How about at age 63?
I’m in the same boat as the OP. When I saw the shoulder specialist (generally recognized as the top guy here) last June I was experiencing pain. X-rays showed my cartilage is almost gone and the Dr. was ready to schedule the replacement. But after a few months the pain was gone and I’m now pretty much back to normal.
My plan is to put it off as long as possible. I’m super fit and healthy for my age, but if postponing too long could cause complications I may have to reconsider.
