...um...are you implying that as a recruit, if not for the money...
he would have gone to a poor team? The very fact that he was being bought and paid for is evidence that he was a sought after recruit. He probably had his choice of teams to go to. I think it is safe to say that if proper recruiting protocols were followed he would have been on a top 10 team with an excellent O-Line.
Of course that is all hypothetical, but so is your criticism.
He was the best football player that year, and he didn't cheat to do that. I think he earned it.
