Talked with a former player yesterday about Pope
I told him I’m on this site and rumors were that Pope was kind of a phony and asked what his experience was like with him.
He confirmed yes he was a phony. Said he was great with X & Os. Loved Cody Fueger. Great as a hype man and figure head. Said he’s main head scratcher was understanding his random rotations.
Also said he was told directly from Pope his life’s ambition was to get to Kentucky via BYU. Said when he was at UVU he prepared all year just to beat BYU so he could get the job.
Ultimately said he’s a good guy but will use you up and leverage to get whatever he wants.
He also said he thought it would be a big mistake for Dallin to leave.
