I’ll say this, structure and fundamentals seems to be lacking everywhere. Even in Utah. However, depending on the coaches you have that can all change.
There are quite a few AAU teams I’d want my son to play for because of the coaches. Our coach is really good too he played D1 basketball and has taught so much about defense and offensive philosophy. It’s mind blowing the things my 6th grader does and has to remember.
The team we played from Las Vegas… the Sin City Sauce Boyz, weren’t coached very well but they were loaded with athletic kids. We beat them resoundingly by 23.
I believe the Utah Stars Elite team beat them by 40+.
But overall there is some really good basketball being played in AAU from what I see at the 2030 class.
