don't usually get the best athletes to pick from at the school I coach at as most of the best athletes want to compete at the 4A level and the school I am at only allows 200 total students grades 9-12, with a waiting list. We do have a couple of ballers but not the amount the 4A school does and the best of the best aren't at the school I am at. If I was hired to coach at the 4A school there a couple of kids I would for sure do everything I could to take with me, and here's why. I know these kids inside and out. I know their work ethic, their personality, how they play with team mates, how positive they are around others, how they act on trips and away games and I can trust them. They would absolutely get minutes talent wise at the 4A school and one would probably even start if thats where he was at. I wouldn't do it to hurt the school I am leaving, I just want a few guys I know to add with the talent of guys at the other school I have seen play but don't really know yet. Pope is probably thinking the exact same thing. It is nothing personal.
