I believe the fact that our recruiting team had a budget that was a fraction of our competition is very material. I also
think that having a crappy schedule like we had as an Indy also played a major role.
And.. our budget for assistant coaches historically really hurt recruiting.
Kalani had material headwinds.
Missions and the Honor code will be headwinds going forward... but budget and inclusion will be less of an issue for now.
It will take time. Our recruiting team is now up and running and has a legit budget.. but some of the guys they are working with won't be freshman at BYU for 7 years. (current high school freshman...then 2 years on a mission... then playing for us).
