Nerf guns it would take away from the realism of the movie and look like a joke. That’s what that fight scene was. I get the implication of it for the story. But it still needs to look good and it doesn’t. Another reason why old movies generally suck.

I get they have their place in cinema history but it’s like saying the original Mac computer is the best computer of all time. Just because it’s important doesn’t mean it’s still good. It’s useless in today’s world other than reminding us how bad old computers used to be.
