Time to start following the NFL I guess. College due to NIL is insufferable

I don't like the sound of "scholarship expansion" and "new roster limits"

May 2, 7:06pm
I don't think that will be that big of a deal. Players will still want playing

Don't know about BYU, but I'll bet a lot of schools do.

Like I said I don't think so. BYU has shown they are serious about sports.

I see this on CB from time to time and it is ludicrous.

May 2, 7:17pm
BYU VP quoted by The Athletic saying basically that, so…not ludicrous.

There is a massive difference between saying that and actually believing it will

Utah should until sports can be self sufficient

People aren't thinking this through. They seem to think there is no alternative.

Will it eliminate NIL?
lilpenny
May 2, 7:25pm
They can't eliminate NIL. Schools can't unfairly profit from an athlete's NIL,
Corn Pop
May 2, 7:47pm
really? there is no other way to regulate NIL?
ColonelMustard
May 2, 7:55pm
Schools/NCAA regulated it forever. Courts said they have to allow it.

If they are employees they can regulate more activity. It likely couldn't be

I don't see how an employer can limit anybody's NIL. That's not legal either.

May 2, 10:07pm
Sure you can. Let's say nike wanted to be your sole sponsor
cougarfann888
May 2, 10:52pm
These are players. There's not going to be a non compete clause. Also
Lance71
May 3, 8:25am
No they prevented it for years. Not regulated it
ColonelMustard
May 4, 4:21pm
It won't eliminate NIL, but it will probably replace much of NIL with direct compensation
El Jefe
May 2, 7:56pm
Eventually all the top schools will pay up to the cap, and wealthy donors will

That's probably true, yeah

How would this even be possible in the SEC or BIG10

If players are paid, does roster size shrink from 105? NFL is about half that.
GilbertAZCougar
May 2, 10:53pm
In the current proposal, they are actually talking about expanding roster size.

Why is there no cap?
