Make the same wage if $55/hr then the cleaning will be at least $55.

Rent will cost at a thousand or two.
A cleaning unit that is standard in industry costs $5,000 with continuous replacement of tips and maintenance.
They would need to carry their own business liability and malpractice insurance, which is another few thousand.
Sterilization equipment and maintenance runs another 5-10k.
Disposable materials run around $3-5 per cleaning.
And this doesn’t include any software, computers, imaging, or diagnostic tools.

And a very healthy mouth can take 15-20 minutes to clean. But most mouths are not clean. I get push back from hygienists that 40 minutes for a cleaning often isn’t long enough. 3 an hour with flipping the rooms is really unrealistic.

All of the sudden a $70-90 cleaning in a dental office doesn’t look that bad…
