Maybe it's just our ward, but pretty much all the "fund-raising" is parents spending lots of time, effort and money to do something that is then sold back to other parents in the same boat for stupid amounts of money. What a dumb, indirect, inefficient, wasteful way to make money. Just let me write a check instead of making me spend time and money to give you money.

If it's really supposed to be fund-raising by the youth, find a way to actually earn money in the community or with a business or whatever that the youth can go and do and feel good about.
