for all his recruiting energy — & being among the finalists for so many big-name transfers — ultimately, he had a very hard time landing dominant players or immediate-impact difference-makers for us from the Portal. And yet now that he's at UK, he's getting most everything from the Portal he wants.
If pulling rabbits outa the hat is in KY's future at BYU, it might take some time for him to get there. Let's pray he has the patience & love for the job to see us through. He's obviously a proven, standout coach. But it might take some time for that to translate into wins in the Big12 at a place like BYU. Unlike a freshly inaugurated Pope in 2019, KY's logged no time previous time as a BYU coach. It's therefore very hard to me to believe that he really understands the challenges he's gotten himself into like Pope did that first year.
That said, let's land Keita... & I'm praying hard for Lanier too.
