Thinking about my dad's life, in the spring Winter and fall, Early morning you fed the livestock, collected the eggs milked the cows, worked the fields. Then go to school.
In the summer you hurded the cattle up onto the mountain worked the fields, continually irrigate collect cut split firewood to get you through the winter, in the winter you spent time at the reservoir cutting ice for the ice House to keep food cool in the summer. You did a fair amount of hunting throughout the year. My grandma would tell the boys go down the river and see if you can get me a couple ducks or a goose for dinner.
Often you'd put your butcher some livestock, chicken, pigs, etc.
In the late summer and fall you round the cattle up and take the cattle down from the mountain. Harvest the potatoes continue bailling the hay, and tend to the livestock work, tend to the vast garden. Help the sisters and Mom bottle fruits and vegetables.
Then when you're old enough you go into the military
