My Mom had Alzheimers. As did her Mom. It’s hard to watch their identity be stripped from them by such a cruel disease. I had a front row seat as I was often the one helping to take care of her.
A couple years after her Alzheimers diagnosis she also got cancer.
She, along with my wife is the toughest yet most tender woman I’ve ever known.
I remember one of the last conversations we had where she was surprisingly lucid in spite of her condition.
