The acoustics are what make that building special. However, we are a long ways past 1979 and there are great firms that specialize in designing buildings with great acoustics. The science has advanced significantly. I'm not at all worried that they can build an even better venue.
You people are more about the nastalgia of the thing. It's not a historically significant building. For what it is it's not even particularly fancy compared to similar facilities in other areas.
